Our Story
Marissa Shahani, Co-Founder of Handpicked Kitchen
Spending nearly a decade in higher education studying nutrition and lifestyle, I found myself consistently frustrated with the food system in the US and the dishonestly within it. This sparked a desire to really deep dive into the ingredients that I was putting on the table for my own family, and how they were impacting our health. I sought to learn how to select the most nutrient-dense, high-quality foods and continuously came back to the importance of sourcing local, seasonal ingredients.
I continued to emphasize learning more about the benefits of eating this way both in my education and personally. Handpicked Kitchen was created with the goal of bringing this information to others in an intimate setting, where they can experience the flavor and power of these ingredients.
The most beautiful part of supporting local farms is not only that it nourishes our own health, but also that it sustains the health of the planet. The harmony between these two concepts is at the core of Handpicked Kitchen and we look forward to having you join us on this journey!
